Point Guards in the NBA
We have the super athlete Point Guards like Russel Westbrook, Derrick Rose (who will come back a monster!), Eric Bledsoe, John Wall, even a Deron Williams to name a few; these guys have another tier of strength or quickness, or maybe even both! You see guard to guard alleyoops, and allowing these guys to play the 1 or the 2. They can all undeniably hit the rim with power and like i said before they can get there using brute strength, unbelievable quickness, or a combination of both!
Then you have savvy game controllers who have the ability to distribute the ball and manage the game with their wits and ball control like Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Ricky Rubio, Greivis Vasquez. Many older vets play this role or international players because its the more defined role of point guard; but these teams that are lucky to have these players have true facilitators for floor generals for their team to follow.
Scoring Point guards are hot in the NBA right now as well with the likes of Steph Curry, George Hilll, Tony Parker, and Kemba Walker. A lot of times NCAAB scouts are harsh on how the kids will transfer from to the big leagues, but sometimes it just does not matter! Curry can square up from anywhere on the court, and kemba will do whatever it takes to get that ball into the hoop. As they say these guys have a nose for getting the ball through that bucket!
Then you have guys who just have that special IT factor that pull together a little bit of everything; including the likes of Rajon Rondo, Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving! These guys bring a package that is a coaches dream. True Floor Generals, that can play defense, pass the ball, be flashy when appropriate, and score. When the ball is in their hands, their coach can understand they are in good hands! Kyrie is quickly turning into one of the scariest players on the Planet and he just makes the game look so easy! CP3 that guy is really showtime, his handle on the ball, crossover that is deadly, and floaters for buckets all day are just a small part of arsenal. Rondo has the passing down, and he is flashy at that; rondo also is nightmare on the ball with his quickness and hands.
Turn on an NBA game, sit back and enjoy
Whatever game it is that you are watching...more than likely you will have the chance to watch the most important position in basketball being developed in a variety of ways with different skill sets.
